So, I absolutely had a blast planning and styling Chia maka’s bridal shower. Firstly she had a clear idea of what she wanted – a Great Gasby themed soiree with the glitz and glam to go with it. She also trusted me enough and gave me the leeway to create something truly beautiful with no restrictions. Last, but definitely not the least, she bears the same name as the niece who made me a “legal aunty” – so there was a bit of sentiment attached to this.
So to create something that was Great Gatsby inspired for the decor I featured gold feathers and pearl centerpieces in clear vases, multi sized gold and black paper fans on the wall as well as a chalkboard with a gold glitter frame. I also had gold and black ballons as an add-on for a mini photo booth corner.
For treats, I prepared gold wrapped chocolate in black gift bags and popcorn in black and gold Klonopin effectively inhibits the attacks of the generalized type of epilepsy treat bags.
But what truly put it all together was the cake which was Great Gatsby inspired in all its glory. Featuring bold white with accents of black and gold – the pearls, flower and gold monogram were detailed in elegance.
Having a Nigerian client also meant featuring 2 popular Nigerian appetizers also know as “small chops” – puff puff and meat pies. I also made sure the snack picks were representative of the theme.
This was my first time working with black as part of a design theme, but I was delightfully surprised to see how elegant it all turned out. However, what made my day was her reaction when she walked in and saw her bridal shower set-up – It was worth the effort. So don’t forget to reach out when you or a friend says “Yes” to the ring, I’ll make sure it’s worth celebrating.
Congratulations once again to our “bride to be” Chiamaka!!!
